“Love & Light” is a lighted Christmas tree memorial in remembrance of loved ones who have passed away but are forever in our hearts.
Individuals, families, civic groups, etc. are invited to participate by purchasing a Christmas tree and decorating it in memory of a loved one.
A $50.00 fee covers the cost of the tree, memorial sign, electricity and power cord, and refreshments for the ceremony.
Participants will be required to provide their own decorations. There are only a limited number of applications that will be accepted. It is first come, first serve.
The Christmas Trees will be installed and ready to decorate on Friday, November 24, 2023 after 12:00pm. You are responsible for having your tree decorated before the tree lighting ceremony.
All trees will be lit simultaneously at the ceremony on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 5:00pm on the Courthouse Green next to the Historic Salem Courthouse at 58 East Broadway in Salem, NY and will remain lit throughout the month of December. All decorations must be removed from the trees no later than Sunday, January 7, 2024. After that date, all remaining decorations and trees will be discarded.
