Moon Based Mining

This is an ongoing project based maker space program about space exploration and moon based mining operations. If you have any interest in science and space exploration, this is the operation for you. The program is now in its second year. Please click here for further information.

Martial Arts

Steve Nacua of GlensFalls Hop Gar Kung Fu Academy, is offering his time to provide area youth a free martial arts experience. Contact the Courthouse for current Class Schedule and more information.

  • Saturday morning Kung Fu (Children) 8:30AM.
  • For kids ages 9-12 meeting Tuesdays April 4th from 2:30-3:30 or 3:10 or you can be dismissed at 3:10 if you need to take the late bus.

Lunch Learn and Play

This is a free summer program for all area youth, kindergarten through sixth grade. Please click here to read further to learn about the program we offer Monday through Friday, 11:30am-5:30pm at the Courthouse from July 2 through August 10.

Art Classes

This program’s session has ended. Our after school art classes were led by teaching artist Gabi Moore. The 2017 session created a community mural for the new Fire station in Salem. Check it out below! We also hosted Intro to Pottery classes for students ages 8-11.

Check out this mural, painted by 3rd and 4th graders to grace the new Fire Station in Salem. This was a free 8 week program led by teaching artist Gabi Moore thanks to funding by the Shoppe of Broadway. We also received donations from A&J Enterprises, Curtis Lumber and A Pizza World.

After School Cooking in the Battenkill Kitchen

This program’s season has ended. During this free program, 5th and 6th grade students met in the Battenkill Kitchen met on Mondays from 2:30-4:00pm.

Creative Ballet and Movement

This program’s season has ended. Lili Loveday led this free program in Spring 2017. “Beginning Dance Techniques” included ages 8-11 and “Young Performers Creative Dance Group” included ages 10-15.
